Privacy notice
Applies to Haul-er. Have this reviewed by counsel before launch.
What we collect
When you book a pickup we collect:
- Contact details - first and last name, email address, mobile phone number and your preferred contact method.
- Pickup address - street, unit, city, state, ZIP code, county and, where address validation is enabled, the standardised form and approximate coordinates.
- Job details - the items, quantities, sizes, conditions, access conditions, your notes and any retailer delivery details you give us.
- Photographs - the one to five photos you upload.
- Booking metadata - your confirmation number, the status of your booking, and a one-way hash of the IP address the booking was submitted from.
Why we collect it
To quote your job, schedule it, dispatch a team to the right place, contact you about that booking, and keep a record of the work. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Your photographs
Photos are stored in a private bucket. They are not publicly accessible and are not indexed by search engines. Staff view them through short-lived signed links generated only when an authorised administrator opens your booking.
Communications and consent
Transactional email and transactional SMS are two separate, independent permissions, asked for separately when you book. They cover messages about your booking - confirmation, schedule changes, when the team is on the way, and completion.
Neither is a subscription to marketing. If we later introduce marketing messages, that will be a distinct opt-in you choose yourself.
Processors we may use
Depending on configuration, this site can use: a hosting provider to serve the site; a database and storage provider to hold bookings and photographs; an address validation provider to standardise your address; a payment provider to take payment, which handles card details directly so we never see or store them; an email provider to send transactional email; and, when enabled, an analytics provider.

Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visits. We use it to see which pages are viewed, which booking steps are completed, and whether our advertising on Google Search leads to bookings. We do not use advertising cookies to follow you to other websites, and we do not run retargeting. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google's own opt-out tools; the site works fully without them.
Beyond analytics: our payment provider sets its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention, and the booking form keeps your in-progress answers in your browser's session storage - that data stays on your device and is never sent to us until you submit.
How long we keep it
Booking records are retained for as long as needed to run the business and meet tax and accounting obligations. Photographs are retained with the booking they belong to. You can ask us to delete a booking record earlier where we are not required to keep it.
Your rights
California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we hold, to request deletion, to request correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law.

Children
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will update this page. Bookings already placed are handled under the notice in force when they were made.
