San Diego is our home market and the only one where same-day pickup is regularly available. It is also the most varied: a downtown high-rise, a Hillcrest walk-up and a Rancho Penasquitos garage are three genuinely different jobs.

Downtown, Little Italy and East Village
High-rise buildings are the fiddliest pickups we do, and almost none of the difficulty is the furniture. Most towers require a freight elevator reservation and a loading-dock slot, both booked days ahead, and some restrict move-out hours to weekday business hours.
Book your building's elevator before you book us, then pick an arrival window inside that reservation. Add the dock entrance and any COI requirement in the special instructions - if your HOA needs paperwork from a vendor before they let a truck in, we would rather know at booking than at the gate.
Hillcrest, North Park and the older neighbourhoods
Craftsman and Spanish-revival homes here have narrow doorways, tight interior turns and staircases that were not built with a sectional in mind. Alley access behind North Park properties is often easier than the street frontage, and worth mentioning when you book.
This is where disassembly comes up most. Sofa legs, bed-frame bolts and sectional connectors usually come apart in minutes and turn an impossible turn into a routine one. Flag it on the item step so the team arrives with the tools - it does not cost anything extra.
Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and the coast
Coastal parking is the constraint, not the carry. Summer months mean metered spots, permit zones and streets where a box truck simply cannot stop near the door. It does not change the price - it changes how long the visit takes, so an early window helps.
Early windows work best here. An 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. slot usually finds parking within a reasonable carry of the front door; a mid-afternoon summer slot often does not.
North County coastal and inland
Encinitas, San Marcos and the surrounding communities are inside the same-day area, but only just: booking before the 1:00 p.m. cutoff leaves about an hour of lead time for a 2:00 p.m. start. Book a day or more ahead and you have the full choice of windows instead of the last one.
Larger lots here mean more curbside pickups, which is the cheapest way to book: if the item is already outside when we arrive, that takes $20 off.
Chula Vista, Clairemont, Mira Mesa and the suburbs
Standard suburban pickups: a garage or driveway, a straight run to the truck, occasionally a flight of interior stairs. These are the most predictable jobs we do and the easiest to fit into a same-day window.
Gated communities are common across Chula Vista and Rancho Penasquitos. Put the gate code or the call-box name in the special instructions - a team stuck at a gate burns the window for everyone behind you.

Is same-day pickup available?
Same-day windows are offered across most of San Diego County when you book before 1:00 p.m. and capacity is open, for a $50 priority charge. In practice that means the 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. window, since the earlier ones have already started. Outside San Diego County, and in the backcountry, pickups are scheduled ahead. Your ZIP code determines what you are actually offered.
How do the arrival windows work?
We schedule three-hour windows - 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We do not promise an exact arrival time. Your team calls or texts when they are on the way.
How much does furniture haul-away cost?
Pricing is per item, not per truckload. A sofa starts at $179, a sectional at $249, a mattress or box spring at $119, and most appliances at $129. Those prices are the same in every county we serve - there is no travel surcharge. You see the full breakdown before you book, including any stair charges.
Can you take my old furniture out before my new furniture arrives?
Yes, that is the Before-Delivery Haul-Away Guarantee. Tell us your retailer and delivery window when you book. If your delivery window opens before 11:00 a.m. we come the previous day; if it opens later, we take a window that finishes at least 90 minutes before the delivery window begins.
